Of the 164,306 hectares that make up Hertfordshire, two-thirds of the land is rural. Rural areas tend to have higher levels of community safety - the Office for National Statistics have shown that, as a general rule, the more rural an area is, the lower the crime rate will be. 

However, there are crimes that can particularly affect rural communities. This module will introduce the kinds of crimes that the rural community sometimes experience and the actions you can take to help keep yourself and our rural communities safe.
